DIR is a small organization with a large vision. We believe that every man, woman, and child can become an agent of social change, when equipped with adequate knowledge and resources.
We invite you to partner with us, through a contribution of financial support or by joining us as a volunteer. Every contribution will make a difference. Because DIR’s administrative costs are so low, more than 95% of your donated dollar goes directly to preventing disease and empowering families. There are few better philanthropic investments.
What do donations given to DIR buy?
| $10 | Ensures that three children get seven essential vaccinations–polio, measles, diphtheria, TB, pertussis, chicken pox and tetanus. | |

| $15 | Buys a stethoscope for a DIR Health Promoter. | |
| $70 | Equips a DIR worker with a “Health Bag” containing a stethoscope, blood pressure gauge, thermometer and weighing scale. | |
| $100 | Buys one month of health services for 50 residents of the slum in which DIR operates. | |
| $300 | Pays a full month of salary for DIR’s Nutritionist. | |
| $900 | Pays the first year of training and salary for a DIR Health Promoter. | |
| $2 000 | Ensures that 600 slum children get all seven vaccinations (polio, measles, diphtheria, TB, pertussis, chicken pox and tetanus). | |
| $6 000 | Pays six months of salary for DIR’s Chief Physician/Medical Educator. | |
| $10 000 | Pays for the pre-school education of 60 slum children for one year in DIR’S School with a Difference. The school prepares the knowledge and skills needed to secure scholarships in the region’s best private schools, creating the first step towards an education that enables the individual to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness. |

DIR welcomes all offers of volunteer services, which may be through formal mechanisms (such as an internship or participation on a DIR Board) or through informal assistance that reflects the skills, interests and availability of individuals who wish to provide assistance from their place of residence or to come to Janta Colony to work as volunteers.
